BMC Software lowers quarterly guidance

HOUSTON, July 5 (Reuters) - Systems management software maker BMC Software Inc. (BMC.N) on Thursday warned that fiscal first-quarter earnings and revenues would trail expectations because of the protracted slowdown in information technology spending.

For the quarter ended June 30, the company said it expected earnings, excluding one-time items, to range from $15 million to $20 million, or 6 cents to 8 cents per share. That's below the 11 cents to 14 cents the company forecast in April. BMC also said it expected revenues in the range of $338 million to $345 million, 3 percent to 5 percent below the lower end of the guidance it issued in April.

Earnings figures exclude amortization of goodwill and intangible assets and special charges.

BMC Software wird zwar an der NYSE gehandelt, aber der GSO.X dürfte dadurch geeinflusst werden, und zar negativ (siehe GSO-Thread im Chartforum)
