There could be changes in store for Ariba, i2
January 05, 2001 12:00 AM PT
Talk about some wild speculation. Everyone knows that i2 and Ariba aren't exactly in love anymore, but now a report by AMR Research comes out saying that the two will "divorce" by the end of the year.
The report, co-written by analyst Kevin O'Marah, says a rift will start when i2 acquires a b-to-b e-commerce software maker that will put it in direct competition with Ariba.
Both Ariba and i2 executives have denied the partnership is unsteady.
