3Com [COMS] on Monday said it plans to lay off workers as part of a plan to save at least $200 million a year.
Shares of Tiffany [TIF] might move higher Tuesday after Barron's published a bullish article on the jewelry retailer. The company issued a fourth-quarter earnings warning on Jan. 4, although the article claims the
negative news is already priced into the stock.
Sunglass Hut International [RAYS] said on Monday its president and chief executive officer, John Watson, has resigned to pursue other business interests, against the backdrop of disappointing December sales.
After Friday's close, Breakaway Solutions [BWAY] said it received new financing from its largest shareholder, Internet Capital Group [ICGE]. Breakaway shares soared 55% in Friday's after-hours session.
Shares of Scholastic [SCHL] are expected to split 2-for-1 based on Tuesday's closing price, while Brinker International [EAT] shares are expected to split 3-for-2.
