JDS Uniphase [JDSU] after Thursday's close reported second quarter pro forma net income of $0.21 a share, beating the First Call consensus estimate by $0.02. The company, though, said 2001 revenues could come in at
the low end of 115% to 120% growth over 2000.
After Thursday's close, PMC-Sierra [PMCS] reported fourth-quarter earnings of $0.34 a share, matching the First Call consensus estimate. The company, though, said it now expected first-quarter sales of $160 million to $170
million and earnings per share of $0.13 to $0.15. Analysts were expecting first-quarter earnings of $0.37 a share. Shares of PMC-Sierra plunged 33% in after-hours trading.
BroadVision [BVSN] late Thursday posted pro-forma income for its fourth quarter, excluding amortization and goodwill and acquisition-related charges, of $0.02 a share, compared with $0.03 during the same quarter last year. Analysts polled by First Call expected $0.05 share. BroadVision
shares fell 14% in after-hours trading.
Qualcomm [QCOM] after Thursday's close reported pro forma first-quarter earnings that beat Wall Street estimates and said it backed profit-growth forecasts for the year. Qualcomm shares edged higher in after-hours
trading.
Shares of Duke Energy [DUK] are expected to split 2-for-1 based on Friday's closing price.
